Victorian House

As with all the great automobiles of the world...Rolls Royce, Mercedes Benz, Bentley...their success was in the detail and so it is with this absolutely stunning 2nd Empire style Victorian Lady.

From the start, it is the architectural detail in the woodworking that makes this house stand high above the rest.

Beautifully carved corbels in the overhangs are accented by the slate style mansard roof with its lead coated copper flashings.

Squared and eyebrow topped windows are accented with heavy casings capped with copper, while the front entry doors are custom designed in a Victorian style and made of solid mahogany.

The well balanced dark red brick chimney soars above the roof line and is topped with a piece of solid stone.

The front of the house has a round window with elaborate moldings above it and is covered by a copper roof. This acts as the focal point to the covered porch entry that wraps around the corner of the house.

From concept to completion this project was a challenge, but what truly made this endeavor a success were the clients. They had a level of sophistication about design that made my job much easier. Their vision and patience kept me striving to construct a project that turned out to be the absolute pinnacle of my career.
